Rest Day

Takin today off, back is fried from deadlifts and metcon wod yesterday.

Diet: Horrible, great all day but tonite will be a disaster. To clarify, my diet throughout the day was all paleo, plenty of meats and vegs as usual. But it being new years eve and 8 pm, I'm preparing to go out and join in on the festivities which will include drinking a enormous amount of Guiness.

Sleep: Went to Bed at 11, woke around 9. Lots of sleep, felt good.

Mental: Today feels like a good rest day. Yesterday I was able to make my lifts on my progression's schedule, which was a fear. I was also able to turn a decent metcon in the evening. My back is sore, good time to rest it. I'm hopeful to make it to the 945 am wod at the box but who knows whats going to happen tonight.

Diet: Solid. 3 eggs and half an avocado for breakfast and some almonds. Post workout shake consisted of whey and casein protein, banana, almonds, and a cup of milk. Had a lamb shank and greens for lunch. An apple and a piece of dark chocolate pre-workout. Whey protein and some banana chips post workout. Dinner is looking like Chicken Breast, greens, and maybe some sweet potatoes.

Rest: went to bed late, midnight. got up at 930. Felt sluggish.

Workout : Squats 3 x 5 @ 245#

Time: 9:52

Notes: Dips did not feel strong, 1st set unbroken but last set reduced to doing singles. Volume and intensity of this workout felt good.

Diet: Did not eat anything before workout except a glass of milk. Power was shutoff. Had Ham, greens and carrots post workout along with an apple. Lunch consisted of more ham, greens, carrots and almonds. Had a whey/casein blended shake after workout, and spaghetti squash for dinner.

Rest: solid. went to bed at 1030, woke at 6.

Rest....

Back to work today; on the roads, not the box. Feeling exhausted from the weekend and good times, decided to take another day off but still planning on 5 days of training this week. Tomorrow morning will be back to heavy squats 5x5 @ 245, lets go!

Diet: Good. 3 eggs in the morning along with some greens cooked in olive oil, a pork chop, and half an avocado. Lunch was another pork chop, carrots and broccoli; some almonds and an apple. Dinner consisted of 1/4 chicken dark meat, a portion of ham, some greens. Late night had half a steak, 4 oz or so and glass of v8.

Rest: went to bed around 1130 woke up around 7 initially, gotta get more sleep! friends from out of town keeping me up! the things we do for good friends.

Intro

This blog is to serve as a journal of my training. It will document my workouts in detail as well as serve as a record of dietary and sleep habits. Anything that I feel bares importance on my training performance will be addressed, as well as abstract topics occasionally.


Activity : Rest

Dietary: Drank last night, 4-6 drinks. Woke up dehydrated, but not badly, minor headache. Ate some junk from 7-11 ( 2 taquitos and a donut) late last night. Since waking I have had 3 eggs a third of an avocado and a handful of almonds, about to have an apple. The rest of the day is looking like some wings from hooligans and some chicken breasts and broccoli for dinner. and plenty of fish oil.

Mentality: General outlook, good. Had a fun time last night. Alot of good people I hadn't seen in a long time. Enjoyed being out last night, drinking, socializing. I hope that I can continue the dedication to my training and enjoy the weekends occasionally. It is a difficult to balance.

Sleep: Went to bed around 4, woke at 9.
